capsicum battle...

So I was just watching Iron Chef, very disappointed that Iron Chef Michiba lost. But I think it was mainly due to his own faults rather than the talent of the challenger. What I found funny was their dodgy German accent they gave the challenger. I'm sure all Germans don't speak with 'z's instead of 's's. Poor, poor Germans. They deserve better. Today was a capsicum battle, yet they still call it a bell pepper so during the episode I was just saying "its a bloody capsicum".

As I was studying today, I noticed something differ.... I couldn't keep it up. I really should study one day. But I feel that I've got all weekend and to be fair, I won't get any studying done till Tuesday. Just because Tuesday is a good day for studying.

I feel like doing something cool this weekend. But what...

I could easily get into a big fight with Jason right now. Very easily. But then I'd have to face up to him on Wednesday and I just can't be stuffed.

Cricket today. Entertaining.

daria...

Haha, I'm watching Daria right now. The best show ever I swear. I loved it back in grade 6.

So we're stuck smack bam in the middle of exams. Only so far, I've only completed 1 exam, although to the innocent bystander it would see that I've completed 2. Too bad someone *cough*batman*cough* had to use the 2002 exam for science. A shame too since I owned it so hard without having to cheat. Now its been rescheduled to next Friday, which provides more problems as I have to reschedule my maths paper 1 exam again to a session 3 exam one day, probably Friday since I'm lazy.

I happened to be reading Isaac's blog the other day... ah who am I kidding? I read it religiously. But I found this more than a little interesting:
Anyway, one of my best friends, Jason, asked if he could sit next to me; to cheat, obviously. But i told him that i don't cheat during exams. So yea, he said "Fuck you!" Well, i was taken aback. Seriously, i didn't expect such an aggressive response from such a good friend. He's really strong headed and he doesn't like to study, and i don't mind helping him out in class tests and all, but it just won't do him any good if i just feed him the answers. He'll only get the flak in Year 12. So yea, i stood strong on my belief, and obviously, he got pissed... dead pissed

Haha. Good on you, Isaac. I took the exact same stand, except I wouldn't let him copy off in a class test, and I'm still feeling great. If he wants to sulk about it, let him. No skin off my back.

In other news, Channel 10 are starting to air a lot of Simpsons now. A lot. Bring back Jamie Oliver I saw, even if it is just old episodes.

My organising skills have been lacking of late. Heck, the guys in the middle east are doing better at getting peace [this joke worked a year ago]. I tried organising to go to the Melbourne Victory Newcastle United match, that folded. Tried Victory Sydney, that just sucked. And now its Victory Adelaide, the original duo we saw play, that never even looked like happening even though I asked someone a whole week ago as opposed to the usual night before. Maybe I'll just go by myself one day... when they decide to stop selling out. Stupid Melbourne public. If the A-League was held during the winter, as football was made to be, they'd be struggling to get 5000 a match. Bah.

don't let them win...

Hi all!!! How are you?!! I hope you're doing fine! I am!

Hey, you know what's funny?! Back in term 2, the teacher says something about God and someone goes "ISAAC!". That's funny.

But you know what's not funny? Syphilis [thank you, Trent]. Another thing that isn't funny. About a week ago, the teacher says something about God and someone goes "ISAAC!"... for the hundredth fucking time. Not funny anymore. We get it, he's religious. At least he has principles and doesn't act like a total jerk.

Moving on... cricket was really really bad today. Find out more at CricInfo. Or just go to my cricket blog.

for friends and foes...

Interesting day today, and not in the least bit disappointing. It involved everyone trying to ruin my scarily awesome plan for Isaac, dripping tomato source everywhere and dropping 2 catches at cricket training.

Onto beer ads, they've suddenly gone up a notch. The Carlton Draught ones have always been pretty good. As has the VB ones. But not Becks had joined in on the party. It's a shame Johnnie Walker didn't come up with some cool ads, especially since they've been sponsoring pretty much all international cricket. I mean their latest ad with Justin Langer, big whoop.

So I'm watching Braniac right now, rather interesting show. Its cool how they have the littlest guy from Top Gear to host the show. ITs ashame they didn't get Jeremy and the other one. Back to Braniac, a lot of the stuff they do has already been done on Mythbusters, such as the mobile phone igniting petrol, breaking wine glasses with singing and some other nifty things. Its still a fun show though, especially with their barrage of breasts. I swear, their explosive team of babes is some serious nice [if that makes sense].

Very sad thing happened in science today. Very, very sad. But life skills made up for it. And then Indo. Funny thing. Samir had just done his speaking task and Capon-face asked if he wanted to pick someone and he says "Nah, I'm not mean". I volounteer to go next [and subsequently pwn it] she asks me if I want to pick someone and I say "Nah, I'm not mean, but I pick Peter". lolz. Good old Peter-face.

we'd hit the bottom...

I don't know if should be saying this, but I'll say it anyway. The phone first rang at 6.30 in the morning. My only thought was "Who the hell uses a phone 6.30 in the morning?!". It was only 15 minutes later when I woke up that I found out what it was all about.

By that time, it was 6.40 and I was eager to get ready for school. As I was about to get my breakfast ready, I didn't really pay attention to the fact that my mother was still in the kitchen, when normally she would've been out of the house. Only then did my eldest brother walk up to me and say "Vincent's dad passed away. We think he fainted while he was asleep and he didn't wake up. That's all we know."

My uncle was dead. I was shocked. I didn't really feel like crying though. Everything still seemed to go on as usual though. I still had to scoff down my breakfast, have a shower, get changed and race out of the house. I went through the whole day, feeling completely normal. I tried to think of how I'll never see him again. I know I'll miss him, but it just doesn't stir up anything.

This is exactly how I felt when my grandpa died about 5 years ago. I was just like 'oh, now what?'. But my mum is taking it pretty well, at least she's putting on a brave front. I know if I had a little brother and he just died I'd be shatterred and destroyed. I wouldn't be able to do anything for a couple of days, let alone organise the funeral.

Just don't expect much from me in the next couple of days. Blogging really helps sometimes.

spanked...

I can't help but feel sorry for David Bowie. He's such a fantastic musician. And he's earned millions and gatzchillions of moneys. Yet through all of this, he still looks like a twig with a yellow catapillar on the top. I always get him confused with Beck though. But Beck, is he an old guy or a new guy? I get the feeling he's some new techno beat bopper but I also feel like he's an old school kinda fellow.

It's birthday season right now. Everyone's having their birthday. Its Kelvin's birthday this Saturday and I feel bad for not getting him anything. Then its Isaac's on the Tuesday, but I feel cheap for just getting him a smile, and its not even my smile. The week after that its Phan's birthday. Then its exams. Then work experience. And then on the Sunday after (the 13th) ITS MY BIRTHDAY!!! ding ding ding.

I don't want a lot of things for my birthday. The wierd thing now is that I will almost expect something but I don't know what. I was never good with receiving presents. But I do have a list coming along:
- Melbourne Victory membership
- A Blackburn Rovers wrist band (available on ebay)
- A Total90 red and white swift ball
- A bag of lollies

No hint dropping there of course. *hint hint*

A sudden influx of cricket training, most of it in vain. I don't really need to go tomorrow but I have to go to make it easier on me on Friday. But no one would understand that but me.

We're going to go to Victory v Yorke on Sunday. I look forward to it. Unfortunately I lack the effort nor time to make a nice sign.

plotting and plonking...

Plotting graphs has got to be the most boring activity known to man. Apart from listening to Wakeham for a double.

Not much to say right now. Except for the utter hopelessness of the supposed 'World XI'. With their collection of players, you'd expect them to at least hit over 200 in each of the innings. Most disappointing was Brian Lara. He was the main man in their batting line up and unfortunately he was caught playing a couple of lazy strokes outside his off stump.

Tops to Shane Watson though. I never would have picked him to hit Shaun Pollock in the head, TWICE. Also to Mike Hussey, how he is not in the Test squad is a mystery to us all. Now my predictions for the upcoming Super Test:

Australian XI: Hayden, Langer, Ponting (c), Katich, Clarke, Gilchrist (wk), Watson, Warne, Lee, McGrath, MacGill

World XI: Smith (c), Sehwag, Dravid, Lara, Kallis, Flintoff, Boucher (wk) [but where is Sangakarra?], Pollock, Vetori, Murali, Akhtar

12th man: Hodge (AUS) and Inzamam (World XI)

Toss: World XI
Top scorer: Dravid
Top wicket taker: Warne
Man of the Match: Ponting
Result: Australia by 5 wickets

GG

Oh and also season starter yesterday.

its like that...

I had garbo today. Hardly interesting. Well it was interesting but so very crappy. I did it with Allan [of the Ngo tribe] and we had our moments. Anything we did after 11.30 was just dead though. I don't know how but walking around, lugging a garbage bin takes quite a lot out of you. But it was all good in the end. Good old Allan. And the head cleaner man was also pretty cool.

I'm so screwed, homework wise. I've got the science experiment report thing due Friday and the geography assignment due next Thursday.

In other news, I suddenly really really want to go to the SuperSeries right now, but as I've told some people, Cricket Australia organisers are possibly the stupidest people in the world. Let's just look at this.

They have a hastily assembled practise match with Victoria. It probably wasn't that hasty but it felt it because I only heard about it the day before on the TV, after practically patrolling CricInfo. Just a look at the dates of the one dayers will tell a story. The matches will be played on Wednesday the 5th, Friday the 7th and Sunday the 9th. The main reason I won't be going, or even trying to organise it with some people, is that because the first match is in the middle of the week and just impractical. Going to the second match means that you miss out on the first 25 overs or so and all the good seats get taken. Then going on the Sunday means that I'll get home at about 12 and still have school the next day.
