police training...

My last post was good god damnit. It's the kind of post that receives rewards for Best Picture, Best Screenplay and Best supporting Actor.

The city was on show on Sunday night. The much awaited Vermont Presentatin Night had come around once again and all were eagerly looking forward to it. Or those that realised it was on, and only a few it was.

Midway through the night, a bunch of us [Nick, Pat, Ricky, Dom, Malinga and I] got hungry so we walked up to Al's Pizza on the corner of Canterbury and Boronia. With a long wait ahead of us for the pizzas, Pat and I divulged in a quick game of Police Traning, an old school shooting game. We started off at the easiest level, I completed it pretty easily. Pat, on the other hand, S-T-ruggled and bombed out. I kept on going... and going... I eventually lost after 2 more levels. Not a bad effort for a first time I have to say. Although chances are it won't be my last.

Apart from that everything went smoothely. People got their awards. I was forced into making a jagged, unpractised speech for the second year in a row. Nick was robbed of the bowling award. And our favourite slacker, Dom, was given Junior Club Champion [it pains me to think how well he might've actually done if he tried once in a while].

School has started again. I'm not sure what to make of it. Someone has already stolen my favourite Puma ball. Some may be confused on why I do actually love it so much. Well find me a ball that you can kick shoeless without breaking a toe and I'll love you forever more. Thankfully, my teachers don't care about the lack of homework I did over the holidays. Seems they're just as lazy.

Have you ever seen someone that you feel you know but don't really know that person well enough to call out a name? Yeah. Thought so.

Biggest bunch of misfits, ever.

since you been gone...

I did something I'm not overly proud of last night, ok I'm a little proud of it. Phan just got off the train at Richmond and about 30 people were going to try and squeeze in through the one door all at once. Well because I was in one of the priority seats [it was one of the newish/oldish trains that are still manually opened doors but new enough so they have a little air conditioning. Anyway I was sitting at the end of the carriage with the driver's compartment thing next to me, you know, with the three-seaters facing each other] and did not want to get up for anyone. So I did the little trick one Ben Niles taught me and pretended I was asleep. Because this my first time, I knew I wasn't doing it well. But by the time we reached Box Hill, my left arm had fallen asleep and my other arm weren't too far behind. I decided to 'wake up' then because I wouldn't have minded just standing up until Mitcham. Luckily no one asked me to ^_^

Late night KFC does not agree with me. And I do not agree with it either. After an intense 5 hours of badminton [there's no 'G'. Stop pronouncing it as if there is], we were all pretty hungry so Phan, Victor and I went to Hungry Jacks to eat our KFC. Suffice to say, even a regular meal is way too much for someone to finish and not feel like crap. Phan and I kind of staggered our way to Flinders where we caught the train.

After the Malaysian mixed-doubles match, everyone wanted to go but Jin and Darryn raced off to try and get the Malaysian guy's shirt. They failed, but were still rewarded with a couple of photos, the second one marred by the presence of Mr I-sold-all-my-other-pants-for-my-$400-pants. After that we all got out before everyone else could. Sam desperately wanted to wait till the end of the night's matches but followed us. Halfway to the exit, he decided to go back and watch the rest. We got on a tram to KFC outside Flinders. Everyone got their food but Darryn, Tommy and Jin all left straight after.

Arriving at the exhibition centre wasn't all that amazing. Going in was somewhat hilarious because Jin got randomly selected for a body pat-down. No bombs luckily. Darryn got his free Coke Zero confiscated though, we were all a little disappointed. When the badminton finally did get underway, I was somewhat surprised. Never actually having seen or even thought of a badminton match, I wasn't quite sure of what to expect. What greeted me was something ok. Women's singles were first up. We watched, we cheered and we even jinxed. Mixed doubles were next and it was about a million times more interesting. Who would've known that adding 2 guys to 2 girls gave so much entertainment? Yet again, we watched, we cheered and we taunted a little girl.

I arrived at Flinders Street station to find I was the first one there. For a first, it wasn't actually my fault. Jin told me to catch this train and I asumed he would be on it before I saw it was express from Camberwell to Richmond, and skipping his Glenferrie. Being the good friend I am, I caught it anyway. Everyone eventually arrived at Flinders. Tommy and Jin were about 5 minutes after me with Phan not far behind. Then Victor rocked up with his girlfriend followed by Sam shortly after. We decided to go to KFC because Tommy was so hungry. Darryn met us there and we were on our way to the Exhibition Centre to watch some hardcore baddie.

ted leo...

Bwahahaha. Behold my mighty new skin. It took me multiple days just working on the background. First I had to vector, then make black and white. Then I had to vector some other images. Then I did all the fancy brush work. In all, that took about 3 or 4 stints of a couple hours each.

Then came the coding. I worked on it all of last night and all of this morning. Hard work, I know. Instead of doing homework, I opted to do this instead. Totally worth it I reckon. Now I just need to work like hell tonight, Friday and weekend to finally finish all my homework. I've got my priorities straight.

Futsal yesterday was bitching. I wanted to get to Box Hill early because I was going to bring a camera and needed to buy a battery and some film. Just as I left the house, I felt I forgot something. Ah, it was my sunnies. I debated whether it was worth going back or not, I opted not to. Five minutes later I realised I forgot the camera. So not worth going back for.

I got to Box Hill about 20 minutes early and nothing to do. My mum told me to go to the library and pick a book up for her but as I reached the front door, it wouldn't open. A quick perusal of the opening times yet the door wouldn't open. A deeper look said that library opens at 1pm on Wednesday's, I was an hour and a half early. When I got back to central, I went newsagents to look for cricket magazines but Jin and Phan followed me, ruining my fun.

From there, we met up with Nigel, Tommy, Jono and Jimmy. Nigel just happened to be in Box Hill coincidentally, so he left looking for his family or something. We went to have lunch at the New Age Cafe. Fancy eh? It was an asian place that serves western cuisine, a recipe prime for disaster. Phan ordered a roast beef sandwich, Jin ordered the spaghetti bolognese, Jimmy the lunch special [with spaghetti instead of rice o_O] and I the steak sandwich. When everything arrived, we were thoroughly surprised.

Jin's spaghetti was half cheese, half sauce and three quarters meat. Jimmy's lunch special just looked plain wierd. My steak sandwich was really only half a sandwich. And Phan's roast beef sandwich was non-existent. Instead he was given a couple of small roast beef wraps. Hilarious. And instead of chips, Phan and I got 3 Pringles.

During lunch, someone randomly grabbed my shoulders and scared the crap out of me. At first, I thought it was lil' Joe because he's the kind of person that would do it. But when I turned around, I saw my cousin Nick. Apparently he was having lunch with some of his bank buddies [he works at Commonwealth Bank and wears a Ralph Lauren Polo shirt to work].

When we did eventually get to Box Hill Aqualink place and played futsal, it was a heated tournament. I was afraid we'd get destroyed because Isaac's church team actually play futsal regularly, but we didn't, thanks mainly to Jimmy and Tommy. Final scores were 11-10, we lost. I pulled off a couple of brilliant, finger tip saves but copped a handful towards the end.

Next time, it will be me who scores 10 goals.

i was close...

Ah, I'm feeling pretty crappy about myself right now. Very crappy. I know I have homework to do but at the same time, I know that I can't be stuffed working overly hard. Someone help me. Please.

About soccer on Friday, it was ok. Not as good as the first time we did it. I mean, it was fun to an extent. Up until Turk's brother got so annoying I was one wrong step from kicking him in the nuts. I wouldn't say he's a pain but my gosh I neck was sore.

I went to watch the Under 16B grand final yesterday. I wanted to go to watch Sid and Divya play, after their definitely surprising win over Glen Waverly last week. So they were bowling first against East Burwood/Bennetswood and they destroyed them. When I came, it was just after the break and Burwood was 2/80 odd from 25 overs. After a further 20 overs, they added another 70 runs for 8 wickets. A guy bowling "spin" picked up 4 wickets, as I was told he hasn't bowled all season but in the 2 final games, he's picked up 10 wickets with his absolute pies. Their chief spinner bowled pretty well. He actually bowled a middle order batsman around his legs, scary stuff.

Coincidentally, Dom was there as well watching as he was playing in the 2s in the afternoon. I'm going again next week to watch the chase. Come too if you want. Talk to me and I'll organise a whole tour. Prices start at $45 per head. Get in early or get out quickly.

soramimi cake...

Right now, I'm having fun talking to Dom. For those of youse who do not know, Dom is in fact the best cricketer that is on my MSN list, I mean apart from Mr Ponting. He's not the best cricketer I know, Mr Talwar takes that honour [coincidentally he also takes the coolest cricketer]. I've played cricket a couple times with Dom. Not in a real match that matters, just some indoor cricket matches and a couple hit and giggle affairs. He's moved on from Vermont now. He's gone to Richmond in pursuit of bigger and better things. I think he definately can play for Victoria one day, if he decides to pull his finger out and do some work.

Quick update, I have been working on changing the look. It won't be subtle. You'll just visit the site one day and say "Holy crap, why isn't she wearing any clothes?" And I'll be like "Because I linked it to Jin's Xanga" and everyone will be like "Ha, you son of a gun."

I suddenly have the urge to watch large volumes of anime. Mostly FMP: TSR, GITS 2nd GIG, Bottle Fairy and more Ichigo Mashimaro.

Big ass soccer match tomorrow. I don't know what will happen or how it will happen. All I know is that I had something to do before hand but cannot remember it now. I know I won't be playing a lot of soccer. I have something else to do there. Something devilish.

celebration time...

I feel like Steve Waugh, or Brad Hodge, or 4 less Adam Gilchrist. Some keen observers may have noticed that over the past year and a half, I have amassed exactly 200 posts. A big moment for me. I never really thought I would get this far but gosh darn it I'm glad I have.

Originally, I was planning something very cool. But then at first it didn't work out so I went for something much less extravagant. However after some hard work, we're back at very cool. [edit: actually turns out my super cool idea doesn't work so I had to go back to my medioca idea in the first place. Below is what my super cool idea would've looked like]

Many realise that school holidays have started now. I'm very bored already. I need something to do. A new hobby. A brand, spanking new hobby. I don't know what yet, maybe I'll just sleep in the park every once in a while. Gosh I love the park ~_~

Over the next two weeks, I'm planning a complete re-vamp of this blog. Everything will change. I dont' know what it's going to look like when I'm done with it, but hopefully it will be rocking. If you want, chip in ideas. Of course I won't contemplate any of them, but it will feel nice to know that people still read this.

A soccer match on Friday. I'm eagerly looking forward to it. Right now, I'm planning something very, very awesome. I can't exactly say what it is, but it does involve scantily clad women bending over.

about the banh...

Something big is coming. I can't exactly tell you what. If I did, you would be so surprised that instead of crapping your pants, they would crap you. Just, all in due time.

Yesterday was a slightly entertaining day. I'm not exactly sure how entertaining but if I had to rate it on a scale of 1 to 10, it would definately be around the middle area.

Oh, everyone's at Sydney. Which means no more awesome soccer people to own everyone. Ha, 'sif. Everybody must've heard me complain about this but why is it that the year 10's will not piss off and start their own game. They're all a bunch of hacks and ball hogs. I want to kick and punch every single one of them, that goes double for all the ones smaller than lil' Joe.

Everyone's gone Xanga crazy right now, which I find quite amazing. It was around this time last year that people started making bloggers. That was thoroughly entertaining. And like I predicted, everyone eventually crapped out. Last time, they lasted for about 2 and a half months. Let's see how long they go this year.

Cricket is over. I'm so very freaking annoyed. I want to play Under 12's and hit six boundaries in an over, just because I probably could. Now that the season is over, I desperately want to play another match. Umpiring was always the next path but I'm still undecided whether I really want to do it or not. Give me guidance, Ricky Ponting.

i scream...

I'm feeling rather proud of myself today. Even though we lost a match that we so should've won, I'm ok with it. Why? Simple. I spent the better part of an hour "coaching" Malinga's little brother. Now I'm not sure exactly how much of that he absorbed, but it sure as hell made me feel good.

When I got home, my dad decided that we should go out to eat instead. A fair enough idea. I wasn't too exceited but what am I to do? So on the advice of my brother, we went to Switch in Knox City. I'd rate the food but I haven't had enough experience in white people food to say anything worth while. Then we went to get some ice cream. I didn't want any. And I showed great restraint in not getting any. I'm proud. You should be too.

House chorals yesterday. That one day a year where 300 students combine to make a passionate, bone chilling noise. Only Waterloo didn't. They sang like Poowong West Primary [ah... I miss Baylis face]. I think Forrest got seriously dogged. They were about 3 times as loud as the loo but still came equal third. What's up with that? Yarra won. I have to say, the first time I was geniunely excited before hearing the result. I honestly did not think we sang well enough to win. I think what let us win was the fact that we sang after a very below par Waterloo, making us sound so much more awesome.
