bio tut finish

Bio tutor finished today. I guess it's a little sad. I'm going to miss my class, not that we ever really got to know each other. Also I was the only guy in a class of 5. Meh. I only knew the names of one other person, and I'm not quite sure how I got to that point. There was this girl I walked with afterwards a few times while she went to the liberry and I went back to the train station. We talked about random stuffs but the odd thing was I never got about to learning her name. I was convinced I would learn it today as we'd probably never ever meet again but she disappeared right after tutor finished, like a flash of lighting. Then I switched on the mp3 player and I was greeted by the familiar tune of James Blunt's "You're Beautiful".
My life is brilliant
My love is pure.
I saw an angel.
Of that I'm sure.
She smiled at me on the subway.
She was with another man.
But I won't lose no sleep on that,
'Cause I've got a plan.

You're beautiful.
You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with you.

Yes, she caught my eye,
As we walked on by.
She could see from my face that I was,
Fucking [I prefer "Flying"] high,
And I don't think that I'll see her again,
But we shared a moment that will last 'till the end.

You're beautiful.
You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw your face in
a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,
'Cause I'll never be with you.

La la la
la la la la la la

You're beautiful.
You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
There must be an angel with a smile on her face,
When she thought up that I should be with you.
But it's time to face the truth,
I will never be with you.
I really do love the song THAT much. I'm not running around looking for situations like that, but it is a very touching one.

So now I can't be stuffed doing anything. Exams are coming up way too soon. Especially stupid biology and stupid 3/4 and stupid exams that actually matter. Once they're over though it'll be full on, non-stop speech night rehearsals. And now that Bayliss ran off on holiday somewhere, the affectionately nicknamed "Bayliss Jr." tries to teach us but it is clear to anyone that he has no idea how to teach a group of 250 year 11 students how to sing in Italian. It's almost like he just likes listening to himself sing and only tells us to sing after him so he can claim he's doing his work. Vote 1 "Bring Back Bayless". Or even better, Vote 1 "Bring Back Cropley". If we're going to get Cropley back as well, bring back Ms Bell as principal because I don't remember he speeches being as sleep provoking.

I'm contemplating my cricketing future. I half want to play, but if I do want to play I know I need to put in a lot of effort and hours over the next month or so to really bring my spin bowling up to a decent standard. And truth be told, I'm not quite sure where all those hours are going to come from. I mean, there's going to be a lot less homework being done in after the next week but I can't be stuffed dragging myself to the cricket nets to roll the old arm over. But I know I'll need to. I'm not a quiter. Not yet anyway.

Anyway, I thought it'd be really cool if you read my brilliant xanga post on how and why to wear shorts. A definite must read. Also, Cricinfo sometimes seem to neglect the smaller things, watch the caption.

long week

Long week. I don't know how many times I've said that, but it rings truer every time.

Monday was intense. Just pure intense. Honest to God, I can barely remember what happened. Not that it was that long ago, just a lot more has happened in between. I remember going to school, wearing pants. Had double general in the afternoon, Yarusky was nice enough to let us go after period 6. Then had biology tutor in the afternoon. Much tirings.

Tuesday was a little more recollectable. Actually that's a lie, it was just any normal day. Boring and tiring as school should always be.

Wednesday was definitely more awake. Last day for year 12 classes so they were enjoying it as much as they could. Then had sport, after waiting for teacher for an hour. Played cricket, was much funs. We were playing a super-7s like game and Divya was in slip when I was batting and he kept bagging me about me outstanding strike rate. Well Kapilan giving me what was left over from the bakery and just to piss Div off, I defended the first ball then danced halfway down the track to defend again. Fun funs. At night, I started making Isaac's card but gave up halfway and decided to finish it in the morning before I went to school.

Thursday was the real deal. Muck-up day and I was not looking forward to it. Finished Isaac's card quickly in the morning before jetting off to school. Luckily this year, at the front gate there was nothing on at all. Smythy and Keytey had taken down the "obstacles" and confiscated all their water guns and a few of their water bombs. Walked into T7 ready to force everyone to sign the card when I see Azza wrapping Narayanan to a pole with glad wrap. Eventful start to the day. In the end, everything was being measured up against how badly Narayanan got owned. Anyway, lots of people signed the card. Thaknfully. At the start I was afraid some people would have to sign really big to cover up the empty spaces but that wasn't the case. I tried to restrict it to only people that knew Isaac, then I tried to cut it down to those who were his friends. Fun fun when asking people to sign it. First thing a lot of them said was "Why? What happened to Isaac?". I actually got Rob Luong to believe that he was in a car crash for like 30 seconds. Afterwards, played "soccer" then home to sleep.

Friday was today. Wash up of yesterday. Not much happened also. Had chem tutor after school. That was entertainigly educational.

Tomorrow hopefully going to buy a new watch. Need one. Plus lots of study.

Vermont v Forest Hill at Davy Lane C1 Grade

I'll put a few videos up soon on xanga. Thing is that they're pretty big in size. I'll let you decide.

EDIT: Only 2 videos up, that's all I can be stuffed before I figure out a way to make them more compact. Find them here

1984 play

Pfft. I scoff in the face of Friday the 13th. Once upon a time, I'd be picking all the crappy things that happened to me today and blaming it on Black Friday. Truth be told, I've had a pretty damn good day and nothing bad had happened at all. Let's work from the start.

I first woke up at 6am. Then I realised I didn't have to be at Flinders until 10, so I slept in for a bit more. Woke up at 7am, decided to sleep for a bit more. Finally got up at 7.30, even though that was still a little early. So got food, changed into shorts and set off. Wierd coincidence, saw next door neighbour leave for school just as I left the house. But then she got picked up by her mum and that ended that. On the train, I was wondering where everyone went until I saw Sam, Kelvin and Andrew on the train. Odd thing, also saw Jimmy but he was on another carriage. No one else got on the carriage, that was a little odd. Got to Flinders and saw a whole bunch of people already there.

Feeling bored, Turk, Alexi and I went for a walk around the city. We happened to bump into the Glenny boys on the way so we followed them to Krispy Kremes. Only problem was they didn't know where it was so we just did a quick loop around the block. Then we went to the Art Centre all prepped up for 1984 play. I wasn't expecting other schools to be there as well, but truth be told, they probably didn't expect our entire year level to be there either. Funny when we were getting seated. For some reason, it was only us MHS guys that didn't want to sit in the allocated seats. That's only because we think we're better than everyone and that we're above rules. Nothing arrogant.

Actually that leads me to something I heard Wilson's friends say the other day when we were in the library. Apparently, according to her, Wilson is part of the "Arrogant MHS Bastards". And you know what? I think that we are overly arrogant. I mean, its natural to feel you're better than everyone else. But when you get selected to go to a such a prestigious and academic school, one can't help but feel that everyone else is scum. Ho ho ho.

Anyway, I happened to see some Whitefriars idiots there, and our good friends Nick Hancock and Aaron Story just happened to be among them, blending in so well that you wouldn't have guessed they were the only ones there who hadn't had sex with either their mother, sister or cousin. So the play was entertaining. I feel it would've meant so much more if I had read the book.

After the play, we went Chinatown for lunch again. I got free iced lemon tea. I have a new found affection for iced tea now. I don't know how it started. For some reason, I decided to buy a lemon iced tea the other day and I liked it. Ever since, I craved for them. Kind of like eating KK for the first time. You know you shouldn't like it, but you still do and you want more and more.

Cricket tomorrow. I won't be playing, just watching. Maybe scoring as well. We'll see.

first match of the season

Hooray, cricket started today. A very much earlier start to the cricket season than I'm used to, and truth be told, I'm not sure exactly how beneficial it was. It's kind of like eating a cake before its finished baking. It may still be part liquid and very much impossible to cut because it'd just deflate, but it still tastes like cake and is yummy to eat. Well cricket today was like. I played like crap and felt like crap yet it was still cricket.

So because I'm playing seniors, it's all afternoon matches now. Which means that I have nothing to do in the morning up until 12. Sucks a little. As I said, cricket was totally, way beyond believable crap. Crap crap crap crap. For one thing, only half of the team had been to training and showed only a few signs of rustiness. Well we batted first and made a pretty good fist of it. Mitch Ricarby was flying before he was caught [after being dropped 3 times] for 45. In the meantime, James Gali/Gally nudged and nurdled his way to a brilliant 49. So after 40 overs, we had made 197 and looked good for a win. I worked the score book for 39.4 overs and was only pulled away when I had to hastily slap my pads on and face the final ball of the innings. I did pretty well, I didn't get out, so that's a win.

Then we bowled, and things never looked worse. Actually things looked ok up until the moment Nick threw me the ball. I started off badly. I continued badly. And I finished badly. I'm actually convinced I bowled more wides than legitimate balls. And then the ball came to me in the field, and then went through my legs for an elegant boundary. And then it came to me in the air, and then went through my hands and to the boundary. All in all, I had such a crappy day and I want to forget it so very much, but one image will stick with me forever. Someone tell Weiss to keep his penis in his pants. AT ALL TIMES.

Just watching Grey's Anatomy, and I've come to the conclusion that there have been 2 main speeches that will stand out for the rest of time. The first is Meredith's attempt to sway Derek to "pick her" over Addison, and all in vain.
"Okay, here it is, your choice... it's simple, her or me, and I'm sure she is really great. But Derek, I love you, in a really, really big pretend to like your taste in music, let you eat the last piece of cheesecake, hold a radio over my head outside your window, unfortunate way that makes me hate you, love you. So pick me, choose me, love me."

The second is Burke's brilliant speech to Christina after she appears to refuse to move in with him.

"I am Preston Burke, a widely renowned cardiothorasic surgeon. I am a professional. And more than that I am a good and kind person. I am a person that cleans up behind myself. I am a person that cooks well. And you, you are an unbelievable slob. A slovenly, angry intern. I am Preston Burke. And you, you are the most competitive, most guarded, most stubborn, most challenging person I have ever met. And I love you. What the hell is the matter with you that you wont just let me?"
