Big fat post about all of today

The Stuart Broad analogy is getting a bit old, bit I'll persist. Just because it is so apt, and I can't think of something else. So yes, let's get on with it.

So last time we checked, I had just been dragged and was doing my time on the boundary. Every once in a while, the ball would come to me but apart from that, I was just chilling and toying with the crowd a little.

Fast forward to now. It's ten overs before the second new ball and the ball is reversing like anything. I have finally been recalled to the bowling crease and am chomping at the bit to have a go at the batters. The swing is there. It's enough to keep me interested. However the ball is just too old, there's no zip off the pitch and the batters are too well set. I'll stick at it, believing in the old adage of putting it on the spot and hoping for the best. I'm waiting though. Waiting and hoping. The new ball is due soon and that offers something different. More pace, more bounce and more swing. Can't look too far ahead though, still must stay in the present and keep trying.

Now I also had a big Chris Judd analogy but I realised that it's not actually THAT interesting. So I'll just keep it to myself for now.

Today was fun. It was one of those classic uni days. Little time spent in lectures and a lot of time spent hanging out. Fun funs. It started off with another one of my early morning, still in bed, SMS runs, where I just send a whole bunch of text messages because I should have woken up but can't be stuffed. They are important though, it's how I plan the rest of my day. I was meant to get up so I could go to bioethics with Annabelle [the reason we are still not sure of], but I was too late for that. Not by much, but by enough.

Ended up catching the bus with Lily to uni. Hadn't actually seen her since pho night, so it was nice to see her again. We played her DS on the bus, that puzzle game with "curious village" somewhere in the title. I solved a puzzle, yay. Watched her solve others, still interesting. Once at uni, we went to the law library where we met other com/law kids but they all ditched me so I was forced to go entertain myself. Other people were in class and silly Felita never woke up for bio so there was nought to do but grab a paper and go to the common room for a nice sit down.

Luckily Tammy called me before I killed myself out of boredom. We met, we chatted, then we went to psych lecture. On the way, we met Annabelle [fresh from bioethics] and Daniel. Psych was... about as much as I could have expected. Boring. We saw Judy was in there, but she was sitting with her other friends... pooers to her. Tim and Judy were talking about something mildly interesting on the way out, not something I would have wanted to hear though.

We had lunch after that. Well, just sitting around and talking. Still fun though. And I unloaded some of yesterday's brownies, so that was a win. Who was there... hmm... People. Eugene and David Phan came, a little randomly. Because there was still few people, me and Phan went to play pool. I started off really well, I was still riding high after my two hours on Monday. But in the first game, about five minutes in, I get a bit smart and accidentally hit the black ball in. After that, it all goes downhill. I end up losing 3-zip, kind of sad. Chen and Lily came down because they thought everyone else was, so we all went back upstairs to rejoin the big lunch circle.

Jackie was there, yay. I like Jackie. She's pretty cool. We went on a little excursion to the Den, me, Jackie, Annabelle and Anthony. I bought a quiche, even though I kind of didn't need to. Just more wasting money T_T.

When lunch finally ended, a whole bunch of us went to psych lab, that whole bunch being Tim, Felita, Judy, Anna and me. I think it'll be kind of cool to go through the semester with all of us being psych lab buddies. I look forward to it.

After lab finished, we still wanted to kill some time. We went to the Kitchen and just sat there for a good hour or so. We ate some free frozen yoghurt, that was nice, and my ability to eat ridiculously slowly and girly like came to the fore. Go me! All the com/law kids came again after their class and I got rid of the rest of my brownies, so I was very happy. Then everyone wented home, so Tim, Felita and I caught the bus home.

On the bus, Felita's amazing ability to chat up random strangers was unleashed once more. We talked to some second year engineering kid with a funny accent. He was nice. And he was reading To Kill A Mocking Bird.

Not much more happened in the day. They got off. I started talking with Ben Dobel. We went home. I got home. Did absolutely nothing. Am still doing absolutely nothing. I did no homework tonight! I am so very screwed for bio essay. Already! The draft isn't even due for two and a half weeks and I'm already saying I'm screwed! I expect too much of myself.
